  October 2009

13 Oct - It is really hot at the moment - wet shawl time.

We are seeing so many lovely animals. Yesterday we saw the biggest leopard you can imagine. Sitting with his back to us he looked like a big lion. He had truly beautiful markings.

He was lying in the shade after having killed a BIG male puku. The puku was being consumed by a marvellous selection of Vultures - four different species, which is unusual. These were the Lappet Faced, White Headed, lots of the rabbley White Backed and two Hooded Vultures. They really are quite amusing to watch as they put their wings out and heads down and rush at each other, squabbling and quarrelling. It was really an enjoyable show.
